On Saturday 28th of February, my extraordinary friend and talented children's author/illustrator Sally Rippin launched 'Meet Marly' to a very packed house!
The Little Bookroom is the oldest
children's bookstore in Victoria, run by possibly the youngest bookshop owner, the lovely Leesa Lambert and her family.
The room was decked out in a manner that would make David Bowie proud, with 1983 balloons, lots of silver disco bling, Rubix cubes, and a fabulous Michael Jackson soundtrack. Leesa even went to the effort of having chocolate crackles, drink poppers and cheese and pepperoni platters.
These photographs were taken by Michelle Pham, who is MARLY on the cover of all the books! Michelle is a Year 9 student at MacRobertson Girls High School (and taller than me, I think!), but was
at Lowther Hall when those photos of her as an adorable younger kid were taken.

Will there be a special launch for the 2nd book in the Marly series. We'd love to try and attend this event.
